Our 3 award winning chef owners will lead Culinary Team Ontario to the World Culinary Olympics in Germany this October.

Chef Shawn Whalen, CCC, CEC
Before going into partnership with Lesia Burlak and David Bakker, CCC, Chef Whalen was Regional Executive Chef for Larco Hospitality and oversaw the daily operations of the Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville and the Renaissance Toronto Airport Hotel. He is the winner of over 50 gold medals in international competition.
Chef Lesia Burlak
An award winning chef, Chef Burlak is also host of the TV show "Foodies" and has served 2 seasons as a judge on Canada's ‘Next Great Chef', which also airs on CH network.
Chef David Bakker, CCC
Previously Executive Sous Chef at the Westin Prince Hotel, Chef Bakker is a rising star in the culinary world having already won a number of medals in competition.
Ron Pearlman
Ron Pearlman is President and CEO of Freshtech Processors, a leading supplier of fresh, custom-processed vegetables for the foodservice industry which serves many of Southern Ontario’s largest distributors, caterers and foodservice operators. Pearlman brings to Liaison College a wealth of knowledge about operations and food costing
